Pyrat Rum "Pistol"
Thought I'd try my hand at alcohol reviewing
Pyrat Rum "Pistol" Origin: Road Bay, Anguilla, British West Indies Appearance: Red-tinged butterscotch, gold sunset sky. Aroma: Very concentrated English toffee and clover honey drizzled over orange and grapefruit peels. Alcohol scent was very subdued, even sniffing from a snifter. Flavor: Very reflective of the aroma. Combined the sweetness of toffee and honey with the tartness and bitter edge of citrus peels. Drier than most rums, with a strong grapefruit finish with slight woodiness. Very soft and drinkable with a nice bite to it. Summary: People have said this is a flavored rum, and by the aroma and taste, I thought the same. But searching the internet for information on this rum revealed absolutely NOTHING saying it's flavored! Very surprizing how strong this rum is with citrus flavors without any flavoring. A true testament to how multi-varied alcohol can be. It's not for everybody, since some might not enjoy such a strong citrus taste in their rum, but I find it enjoyable for an aperitif. Let me know what you think...can I cut it as an alcohol reviewer? |
