65% Humidity

Hi...
I've been keeping my cigars at around 72%, then dry-boxing them for a day before smoking. Cigars tasted great and smoked fine using this process. However, in order to avoid the dryboxing step, I kept the humidity down to around 65% lately. I smoked a few cigars after making this change and I noticed the cigars don't have the same flavor...rather tasteless . Is this common when keeping the humidity lower? My digital hygrometer is salt-tested and the cigars are dominicans (don't have any Cubans....yet). Thanks.
