I just got my hands on a mini-fridge and would like to turn it into a stand up humidor. Any suggestions about the best way to go about this?
Anyone ever built one? Do I need to put cedar lining in it? Should I take off the compressor unit and seal it? Floralfoam/climmax beads.... and all that other stuff. I am using a 48qt cooler right now, but sometimes its a pain in the ass to find what I want (its always at the bottom for some reason). Dallas Dave GO MAV'S!!! |

Do a search on the archives in this room. Lots of info.
Are you going to run the refrigeration unit? If so many use a thermostat sold for home beer making. This seems to work really well but condensation is the problem. To get around that, most use the Climmax beads. If you do use the refrigeration unit, you can't use the freezer because it will be too cold. You might also search for what people have done for wine coolers. Same idea. Good luck. |
