Temporary storage until humi arrives and is seasoned

Hi all,
I was just gifted about 5 sticks that have already been out of their humi for about 1 week. My humi is on the way but will need to be seasoned. Can i store these sticks in a tupperware with a shot glass of distilled water and just keep the tupperware cracked open? keep in mind i don't have acess to humi packs or pillows.

How have they been stored over the past week? I'm hoping you had them in a Ziploc bag.

Here's what I'd do. I'd put the cigars in a ziploc bag, close the bag. Put the entire bag in the tupperbox with the shotglass of water and close the tupperbox. This setup will keep the cigars from getting any drier and won't allow them to overhumidify and split or grow mold.

Well, actually what I'd do is smoke the dang cigars. I mean were only talking about five cigars. That's about a days worth.

There is some permiability in the plastics... ever seen a piece of meat in a ziplock bag in the freezer after about 6 months? how did those ice crystals get on there?? thats why bags labeled "freezer bags" are nearly 2x as thick as 'storage' bags.

You don't want the humidity to get to the cigars. Without a way to regulate and/or monitor humidity, the RH in your small tupperbox will go to near 100% with that open source of water. You're just trying to keep the cigars from drying out any further.

This is only a very temporary solution. You need to get thet humidor set up.

You could swing by your local smoke shop and pick up a water pillow. Ask them to prime it for you and then place it in the ziplock baggie. That should work until your new humi is all seasoned up.

Why water in a shot glass ??? it makes no sense to me ..ah those canadians BTW I'm from Montreal ok , here is what I'd do , take your shot glass and hard boil it for 5 minutes , this will assure you there is no bacteria on it so less chances for mold to grow on the next step , then take a few paper towels and stuff them in the shot glass , saturate the paper towel with the distilled water until wet , then restuff and resaturate until shot glass is pack with wet paper towel
