Help with humidity......

Have a fairly new 125ct humi.......seasoned it when I got, had the hygrometor calibrated and was all set. Had a near perfect reading of 70% for at least 2 months with it about half full. Since then I have just about busted the hinges off trying to close the damn thing, have added some sticks from a couple box splits and a newb trade as well.....I am sure some of those sticks were stored at a lower RH....however its running around 61-62% I would like to get it back up in the 65-70% range. I had now added water about 2 times in the last 2-3 weeks and it seems that it hasnt moved much......do I just need to give some more time or am I missing something. Its in my basement where the temps are usually around 71-75f. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott
