Although it helps when smoking some cigars, I'm not so sure that long term storage at 65% is a good thing. The RH in locations where tobacco is grown is usually higer by 5-10%.
I recently bumped my RH up to 68%. It doesn't seem to have had much effect on how my cigars smoke. And for the long term, I think that it will help maintain the moisture content in the oils in the tobacco. But that's just my way of thinking.
