I'm about to order one of those pokers from Petroglyph. I've also tried the cutting the cap off and letting them sit, if it is a humidity problem than that helps but that won't do squat for a truely plugged cigar.

Example: I have a CAO Brazilia Piranha that I've cut the cap off and kept in my 65% rh humidor for over 6 months, it's still plugged as much as the day I cut the cap off, it will require a poker to be smokeable.

Another unsolicited, unconditional recommendation for Sage and Carrie's cigar pokers. It's a phenomenal custom made tool which salvages the worst of plugs and brings a smile to your face.

on occasion,if I have a cigar that just feels tight, I`ll use my bullet-cutter on it and let it sit for a while in my cigar valet. seems to do the trick for me

I'm definitely gonna order one!...I've seen Mr. Mean's poker and it looks fantastic!...and it worked like a charm when I tried it out! (wait...that didn't sound right )

I always cut and try the draw of a cigar before going out and if one is hard to draw I just put it back in the humi and find one that should smoke nicely. I like them to be wide open and not even marginally hard to draw.

I have done this many times and it seems that even totally plugged cigars loosen up in a week or two.
Sounds good, I'll have to give this a try before tossing it!!
