I am not sure who Mayorga has fought except Vernon Forrest when you step up to the Mosley/De La Hoya then you are stepping way up in competition. IMHO anyway.

I don't see either fighter gaining anything from fighting Mayorga. I like to watch Mayorga fight but I just don't think Vernon is very good or at least not very well coached or something. He has boxing skills and Mayorga is a brawler. Mayorga is gonna get hit and a punch from Mosley or Hoya is gonna hurt whereas he appeared to not be bothered by VFs punches.

actually it looks like Vernon has beat Mosley twice, I still think Mosley would beat Mayorga though.

Exactly. Mosely was being given that "pound for pound" moniker by HBO and such and then lost to Vernon in what I remember as a "big"upset. Likewise, in Vernon/Mayorga I, a big upset. Love to see how Mayorga matches up?!

A guy with boxing skills that can punch like De La Hoya and Trinidad would handle Mayorga easily. Forrest is a very skilled fighter, but lik he has Moseley's #, Mayorga has his.

Look for Mayorga to fight the other 2 belt holders at welterweight, Cory Spinks(Leon's kid) and Juan Margarito in the next 6 months. If he beats both guys, which is not a gimme, as Margarito is a real good fighter he'll move up to 154 and get a big fight with Oscar.

Forrest didn't impress me at all. You can't take a title away when you're always moving back - unless you knock the other man down.
