I KNOW we have a thread already with BOTH my name and the year in the title. That one got a bit more variety, so I've decided to start another one. Need more active herfs, in general, and thus threads in this room.

Keith (Stogie5150) has now created an event on Facebook, so if you're on there, PLEASE visit and check in if you're coming!

The Main Events are on Friday April 20th and Saturday April 21st, 2018 although you can get into town whenever you'd like, of course.

We will have our usual smoking time, like...all day every day!
Friday night we'll have chargrilled oysters as our main fare.
Saturday during the day, we will have a typical Louisiana seafood boil with both crawfish and crabs.

We do ask folks to pay $25.00 for the weekend to cover the cost of the food.

It may be a little smaller this year, as we had a number of folks not-from-here that didn't know us and we didn't know.

How far is slidell from the new orleans airport?
And is uber in Slidell to get us back and forth?

30 minutes more or less. I do not know about Uber, we drive ourselves around these parts...

The few guests that fly in always rent a car and stay in Slidell.

We would love to have you either way.

30 minutes? Maybe the way you and Abby drive. For us old folk that drive the speed limit, an hour.
Shiite. It takes me 30 minutes from the airport to get to the Quarter!

Takes us at least 45, 3 miles from the airport. That's with little to no traffic.
Now, we don't have traffic like the D/FW Metroplex, but there is usually some pile-up right before the "high rise" on I-10 in New Orleans East.

OK, here's the deal. We are committed to a trip to Nicaragua with Black Label Trading Company that week, but they require a minimum number for the trip to "make." If for any reason that trip falls through (and there are some indications that it might) we will come to NOLA. I guess put us down as "tentative."

Let me tell you from experience that Keith makes one helluva good boil. Just back from a visit, NOLA crew still knows how to throw one helluva good time.

Do not walk, run to NOLA if you get the chance. I'm already trying to get back for this herf. It was better than Mardi Gras.
