No, it's not a (VW) Touareg, it's a Keurig!

Anyone own a Keurig coffee maker? My b-i-l has one. While we were back in Jersey last month, we sampled some of the coffees he had. Some were good, some bad. I didn't say much about it, but my wife raved about it. Anyway, about two weeks after we got home from our trip, a big package arrived via UPS. Yes, it was a Keurig and several boxes of samples! A couple of my favorites are the Columbian Fair Trade and the Sumatra Reserve. What is your take on this coffee system?

Costly, and you may soon retire it after buying pods for a while. I have a pod maker, and it is a great deal, but I kind of choke on two or three pods a day at 15-20 cents apiece. I can't see buying keurigs, ever. They seem to run between 35 cents and 1.00 each.

Enjoy it, though, and I hope it gives you great happiness. I think that they probably make great coffee, the pod makers sure do.

Yes, it's too expensive to use every day in place of a regular coffeemaker and my regular coffee. I agree that I wouldn't buy one for myself, but since it was a gift, it is nice to have a special cup of coffee occationally.

I have had one for a couple of years now. The cost depends on how much coffee you drink. I would normally only drink one or two cups a day. So, price was not an issues, maybe a buck. I have tried many of the different cups. The best one I like is Green Mountain's Sumantra Reserve, the best I think. My GF on the other hand drinks more coffee than I. So I haven't used it in about a year. I am going more with the whole grind and use, you know the whole freshness thing. I thought about getting my own roaster but I jst go down to Costco and watch them roast it for me and of I go. they have some new South American blend that is really nice.
