Dodgers
My Dodgers are making all sorts of moves this off season...kinda reminds me of when the NYY went crazy trying to assemble an All-star team. Team chemistry didn't work out too well there...(AFAICT). Hope that doesn't end up happening here. Why do we need another shortstop (Garciappara)?

Nothing works like bringing 'em up on the farm. The Braves have proved that.

Look at the number of division championships. Look at the numbers of the rest of the team that are farm teamers. Look how many other teams buy, buy, buy and NEVER reach the top of their division.
I'll take what the Braves have. Sure I would have liked a couple of more rings, but the Cubs and White Sox fans plus a lot of others would kill for the Braves success. Including the Mets.

Everybody talks about a farm system. Well, folks, the talent is getting really thin in the farm systems as well. I have never seen so many prospects getting traded as they are now. Plus, many prospects come to the majors and go bust.
The minor leagues are as not productive as they used to be. IMO |

With all those division titles, its sad they have only one ring to show for it. That team should have won much more. |

They don't make many trades or free agent buys though. And most of them aren't the headliners that other teams make. Maybe after AOL/Time Warner sells. I HOPE!!!!

Yes, they are being brought up. But there aren't as many of the really good prospects as there used to be.
Of course there are the diamond in the roughs (ie.e Robison Cano). But fewer and fewer each year. The rookie of the year voting has been down to two or three rookies the past few years. |
