Free Colibri Lighter From JR's
I just bought a box of Punch Rothschilds from JR's and they came with a free colibri lighter. It's the black one that says "CIGAR" on it. I filled it with butane and it seems to work okay. But the instructions that came with it state that it should not burn for longer than 10 seconds. That doesn't seem to be too useful for lighting a cigar. What's the problem? Will it get too hot?

I got the same freebie lighter a while back on a JR deal. I believe it's a Colibri Firebird. 10 seconds? I'm sure I've exceeded that on the occasional stubborn cigar. What the hell, I don't pay any attention to time limits anyway! If it gets too hot in my hand I'll cut the flame and let it cool a bit!
Anyhow, it's turned out to one of my handiest, most used lighters. Works good, feels right.....I like it! |

I've used one for more than a year, and maybe it's me, but I have yet to light a cigar in under 10 seconds! The thing works great - actually I have two that I use.
I think the 10 second wording is strictly a "liability issue" in case you burn yourself or light something other than a cigar on fire! Stephen |
