Surprise, surprise Cigar Smokers win one in Washington State

On Saturday, April 23, Governor Christine Gregoire signed SB 6097 into law. The legislation reduces the OTP tax from 129.42% to its former level of 75%, and provides that no cigar will pay more than $.50 in excise taxes.

Allright ! These taxes battles have to be fought everywhere by everyone. We're not gonna win them all, but at least we need to keep letting people know that were out there, and we're vocal.

I know that Jan at Cascade did some work on that.

Good news, I guess....we'll take any small victory.....but it's hard to cheer for a 75% tax.
