Pipe Smoking Vs. Cigar
I've noticed in my own smoking habits. I tend to smoke cigars more when I'm with friends, in a social enviroment, or for a celebration. But when I smoke my pipe, I tend to do it when I wind to wind down and have quiet time to myself. Kind of like a mini-escape from everything.

I feel the same way to a certain extent. Pipes are more solitary, but I have smoked them with friends also. As cigars are more immediate .... by that I mean all you need is the cigar and a light ... they are more of a spur of the moment smoke. Pipes need a bit more planning.

I like to smoke my pipe early in the morning and late at night sitting outside reading the paper or just listening to the sounds of the neighborhood.

cigars are more socially acceptable, especially when you're 25...

Zach ... can you define "socially acceptable" in your view ... I'm curious.

maybe "socially acceptable" was the wrong choice of words... but there is something off-putting about a scruffy kid walking around in cutoffs and a tshirt smoking a nice shiny briar.
or even a sandblast, for that matter. |

I think a corncob would fit right in ... Personally, the only off-putting thing for me regarding young, scruff-looking kids are those who drive my neighborhoods while blasting rap "music" at a decibel level that would mask a jet airplane takeoff. It's OK though ... if you feel less self-conscious with a cigar then smoke on brotha. Smoke what you like ... and like what you smoke. |
