DEFINITION GENESIS

The newest vitola from Definition Cigars is a beautiful colorado-maduro that has a silky, almost oily wrapper with some minor veins. Tonight’s beverage is a St. Arnold Tarnation, which is essentially a less intrusive Arrogant Bastard (which is my favorite non-cigar beer; the real irony being that St. Arnold’s calls it “unreasonably strong [9.0ABV], which isn’t that strong in the craft beer world).

Initial flavors are a bit odd; vegetal yet earthy. The draw is classic perfect. There are doughy notes in the early retrohale; doughy, but with a bit of spice. The ash at first is light grey and somewhat solid looking. The burn is perfect.

In the first third the vegetal notes in the flavor profile turn a bit floral without being obnoxious. The earthy notes keep it from being too floral. The ash and burn continue to be perfect, like most Definition vitolas.

During the second third, the floral notes evolve into a fig-like note. The earthy base is still supporting the evolving flavor profile. The burn and ash remain almost perfect.

Approaching the final inch the flavor profile has developed; the fig-like flavors have shifted to light cinnamon with a light fruity background over the constant earthy base. The ash and burn are still mostly flawless, with a bit of a cone to the ember.

Overall this is an excellent cigar. As a fan of Definition cigars, I can say that this one is one of their best. 9.4/10, Joe Bob says check it out.

A really great review, well done.
That 9% beer would kick my butt, which is wierd since 14% wine has little effect on me.

Wine just makes me sleepy. Also, the beer is more liquid than a glass of wine, so you get more alcohol.
