Me and Carlito Fuente at Casa Fuente Las Vegas
Just remembered my many years old old photobucket account and found this.
Me and Carlito Fuente at Casa Fuente Las Vegas I'm holding my limited production bottle of Jack Daniel's they were selling for CFCF that they engraved to commemorate my visit and was signed by Carlito. Printed the picture with Carlito on nice photo paper, framed it, and displayed it on top of my huge cabinet humidor I built out of an old china cabinet. Glad to have the picture again as it was a highlight moment of my cigar smoking life Hard to believe it was about 15 years ago now as I remember it vividly. I look so nice and young, lol Carlito was a great guy and was willing to chat for a while, on top of the great picture and autograph. He seems to genuinely appreciate those of us super fans of his cigars. Would love to go back for Big Smoke finally now that I'm retired and have plenty of time and see and hopefully meet with him again. Worst case scenario, Casa Fuente is a pretty nice atmosphere/setting for cigar smoking, plus the humidor full of tons of different Fuente and Newman smokes. Too bad I don't drink anymore. Their "Old Cuban" as an awesome mixed drink. Even found out online how to make them at home and if I wasn't drinking beer, I was drinking Old Cubans. Yeah, was by far the highlight of my cigar smoking life to meet, hang out a little, and chat with him, especially since I have been a serious Fuente fan from the beginning, especially since my first good cigar was a Short Story and I loved it so much I bought a box as soon as I got back to the shop from being out in the oilfields for 14 days straight. Instantly became a cigar smoker and Fuente lover immediately. He was a really great guy and seemed to genuinely enjoy talking with a fan and hanging out with me a little bit (my wife and I were the only customers there at the time which helped), and also happily autograph my engraved bottle of Jack (had a gold paint pen in his pocket so apparently travels prepared, lol), and gladly took a really nice picture with me. Yeah, like buying at any physical cigar store, and especially a lounge from what I'm told (Casa Fuente is the only lounge I've ever been to. Wyoming only has the 1 that just opened up nearby that I'm aware of anywhere in the state), the cigars are pretty pricey.
Definitely way more than buying online, but when on vacation, I dont really worry about the money, just want to relax and have some fun and good cigars. Plus I splurged on one of the 2 special vitola CFCF coffins with an exclusive Opus X and Diamond Crown Julius Caesar. Forget what that ran me, but I'm going to guess about the same as the bottle of Jack Daniel's I'm holding in the picture sold for CFCF also, which was $50 (and I didn't even like whiskey/bourbon, lol). Only got them as nice souvenirs and because it was for charity, plus figured the Jack would be good for when I had company, especially since it was supposedly a limited production, single barrel "select", special stuff so I would assume it was better than your regular Jack Daniel's. Pic1-My entire Casa Fuente and Davidoff store haul (dont want to think about what that little bit cost me. Luckily I made $300 playing roulette which doubled my cigar budget which was nice): Pic2-Close up of the CFCF coffin: hanger: I friggin' LOVE cigars Last edited by smbauerllc; 02-14-2022 at 10:46 AM. |
