Crazy Price for an Empty Cigar Box

I see them all the time on eBay. Today I came across an Opus X Power of the Dream empty cigar box for sale. Almost $100 when all said and done! 100 bucks for an empty cigar box!? Crazy if you ask me.

Beyond crazy, I agree. However, supply and demand is immutable law. Hell, I kick when a tobacconist even charges $3.00 for an empty box.

Maybe if Gael had charged for boxes instead of asking his customers to return them he might still be in business.

Bad business IMHO. I have thrown out so many over the years, I can't imagine how many a tobacconist would have lying around.

My local tobacconist sells his boxes and all the money goes to charity. He sells them b/c people come in and grab 10 boxes to make purses to sell or just put in a flea market.
If I want a box, he doesn't charge me. Regulars wont get charged. He usually offers me the box if I am buying the last few cigars in the box.

I usually burn the cheaper-made boxes, such as CAO Brazilia, in my outdoor firepit. The higher quality boxes, such as Oliva MB3's, I have my friend sell them at his annual yard sale. I usually get a buck or two for each box.

My B&M sell boxes for $2, and donates the money to Cigars For Warriors.
