La Faraona Faraona
I purchased this cigar during a cigar crawl in Ybor city a couple of years back. I met the owner/roller and she explained all about their cigars to me. She was very nice. Anyway, I purchased a Faraona, the flagship of their line. The Faraona's shape is unique and she told me that she invented the style. I cannot verify that, but I can say that I have never had a cigar shaped quite like it. See the picture.
The Faraona lit easily and the draw was spot on. It burned fairly well, mostly razor sharp, but it required one fairly large touchup, occurring where the small part of the roll started turning larger. I thought that the unique shape would have its problems in that area and it did. However that was it, and it burned evenly for the rest of the smoke. The cigar started out mild, which is usually a good sign for me as I have been losing the taste for strong cigars and these days something mellow and tasty fits the bill. Therein lies the problem; the mild flavor never developed into anything. It stayed that way for the whole smoke, leaving me disappointed. If you are a fan of mild cigars then the La Faraona Faraona might be the perfect cigar for you. However if you like your mild cigars to gain some flavors as the smoke progresses, like I do, then you will probably be as disappointed as I was. Now, if you would like to know what sort of mild cigars I like, per my description, think of the Cubans Quai d Orsay, Fonseca and Jose Piedra. Of course there are many more but I chose those because I really really like them. Thanks for reading. https://www.dropbox.com/s/904855o038...raona.JPG?dl=0
