Tatuaje Little Monsters
Picked up two boxes, one to smoke and one to sit. I've smoked one of each so far and my observations:
Wolfie: This is a great cigar. It's advertised as having a shaggy foot but it's really more of an 'unwrapped foot' as the filler/binder are simply exposed for the first 1/4 inch or so. The entire cigar has a great spicy/peppery kick that dominates the smoking experience, and that's a good thing. I'd buy a box of these if I could. Babyface: Very good. Sweet dark maduro wrapper makes this a winner. Cocoa and cream, maybe a touch of red pepper, clean smoke all the way. Again, I'd buy a box. Frank Jr: Pretty good cigar. Leather and nuts dominate the flavor profile with a hint of cream. The smoke rolls around the tongue and coats the teeth, a very smooth smoke. Quite enjoyable, probably not 'boxworthy' though. (And one cannot buy boxes of these individually anyway.) Little Mum/Drac Jr: Both of these were unimpressive, IMO. Relatively unidimensional with no discernible flavor patterns. Perhaps they'll develop with age. And that's that. Perhaps the bottom two will get better after some time in the humidor. As always, YMMV.

Be interesting to hear what you think. On another site I frequent, guys are all over the map on how much they like each individual stick. Tastes and preferences certainly vary by individual.

Well, I smoked a babyface tonight on the deck. My impressions:
The first inch was extremely interesting. Slight peppery taste at first, which mellowed into a light fruity flavor with smoke that coated the inside of my mouth and left a sort of wine aftertaste. I really enjoyed the beginning of this cigar. The second half became bitter (perhaps I was smoking too quickly, which I am prone to do) and I briefly detected a cocoa flavor. As the cocoa dissipated, the remainder of the cigar was a bit creamy, but one-dimensional. All in all, I think this cigar was a bit young and will improve with age, and I am looking forward to revisiting it in a few months. I don't know if I would invest in a full box, but I will say I am glad I have five more to smoke in the future. More updates to come as I sample the rest of the first box. I don't know, I really wanted to like these but they all seemed flat and boring. The real Drac is an amazing cigar, so I went to the little Drac first. It was nothing like the original. The Mum, well I havent smoked the big mum yet but the mini tasted papery & much like a dried out brown band Tatuaje. The Frank was one dimensional. The only two that mirrored the profile of their larger counterparts were Wolfie and Babyface. Maybe time will be good to these? I hope?

Tried the shorter cigar of the box, the brown banded robusto and all I can say is WOW. This is one of the best cigars I have had for several years.

The Babyface. That brown band, btw, is tobacco leaf.
