Definitely Bodum. They have them in a huge variety of sizes, styles, colors and materials.

There are a lot of different ones out there and I have about 4...one is from IKEA which surprisingly is a very good one...as good as any $20 FP out there. If you are prone to accidents don't get a glass one...plastic works fine as I have 2 of those. I keep one for travel as well since we travel a lot.

I have a couple different ones. The one I use the most came from ROSS for $5. Works beautiful.

I used a Bodum Chambord initially but after breaking the glass vessel, instead of replacing it I ordered one of these in the 51oz size......
http://www.bodum.com/us/en-us/shop/d...?showsize=true They weren't this high though then. I think I paid around $60 for mine. Works great and no worries about breaking anything.

I got my Chambord from CBC. The blurb on the web site said it came with a glass carafe. When it got here, I took it out of the package, and found out the carafe was actually polycarbonate. Seconds later (literally), I dropped it. No problem. At some point later on, I bought a glass carafe for it. Used it once, like to have burned the crap out of myself. Washed it, put it back in the box, put the box in the cupboard, where it sits today.
Unfortunately, they don't make the polycarbonate carafes any more. You can get an insulating/padding sleeve for some of the current sizes, which I think is a great idea.

big issue I see is less the brand and is more the size. I don't much like french press to sit around for long, prefer to make a couple of cups at a time. Like other I have several sizes and brands, Not too crazy about the bodum travel FP I have but it does work.
a search as amazon finds the bodum FP and several other brands in a variety of sizes in polycarbonate

Someone mentioned it above, but you can find French Presses in all sizes at Ross Dress for Less. They have a section where they sell dishes, kitchen stuff and misc. crap. That's usually where you can find a french press for just a few dollars.
