Supposedly Deputy Fife busted them for distilling 'shine, but no still is present.
Looks more like wine, no?

Not much else to do there other than tally tornado damage. Dekalb and St. Claire, along with Cullman county get the brunt of any severe weather in the state. If there's tornadoes in Alabama, Cullman and Gadsden are easy guesses as to where. Beautiful up in the hills, but remote.

Thing is all of that is legal, except for distilling, which this deputy claims he caught. To me, the issue is that it was done on company/gubmint time and premises.

I'm no expert on Alabama law, but I am fairly certain there isn't a statute on the books that criminalizes producing alcohol on state property. Missallocation of resources, maybe. Going to be awfully hard to make even that stick. Probably a brief suspension and a reprimand in thei personnel jacket.
