I have a good grinder etc, just wanting something better than standard grocery store brand. Reccomendations?

I can't speak from experience as I roast from green beans but others have also spoken highly of Killer Beans. Owner (Mrjerry) used to post here occasionally IIRC.

if you want roasted beans.... Community coffee is near to you... Halfwit in Chicago is currently considered teh ebst roaster here and has truly awesome coffee. A lot of the vendors I am about to recommned are expensive, sorry.

Metropolis- they roast to order - and it is very good indeed - they have single bean and blends, the blends are great https://www.metropoliscoffee.com/shop/coffee-1/

Dark Matters - http://www.darkmattercoffee.com/ - they do some barrel aging and other interesting stuff, they also trained my employee who is now roasting as a business

Singing Rooster - good coffee, good cause, planting the Jamaican Blue Mountain plant in Haiti, trying to establish sustainable farming https://singingrooster.org/
