CAVALIER GENEVA USA EXCLUSIVE
The cigar has a very smooth (almost velvety) feel with the trademark gold leaf diamond under the band. Used a punch and got a perfect draw that had tiny flavor notes of well cared for tobacco. Tonight’s beverage is a Jester King Black Metal. JK is in Dripping Springs northeast San Antonio and makes a great line of farmhouse style ales.
The initial draw is slightly sharp as it hits the tongue. Then it moves to medium mocha notes with a bit of sweet spice running through the mouth. In the first third the sharp element of the draw has lessened but is still there. The result of the second third is a more rounded mixture of oak, well-cured tobacco and a back flavor of either nutmeg or cinnamon. Not sure which because of the sharp notes remaining in the draw. The ash and draw are very good. In the second third the sharp draw has gone, leaving a well-rounded profile of oak, light mocha and what has developed into nutmeg, something I look for in Imperial Stouts (especially Russian Imperials, although this is brewed in Texas). The ash and the burn line continue to be excellent. Approaching the final inch (burning the gold on a Cavalier); and no, the gold does not affect the flavor. The smoke is consistently smooth, as is the retrohale, which is mostly oak. If you have never smoked Cavalier, I would recommend this one for breaking into the brand. It has immaculate construction and a flavor profile that kept my attention throughout. Maybe a couple of points off for the initial sharp draw; 9.2/10. Joe Bob says check it out,

Those sound really good. I bought a 5 pack of the inner circle last year and they really sucked. The first 2/3's was terrible but I suffered through it to the last 3rd which was barely smokable. I haven't touched them since so maybe I just had a bad one.
