Hate to break it to ya, but Guinness for the US market (at least in bottles and cans) has been brewed in Canada for several years now. Just like Kirin is brewed in Los Angeles, Carlsberg is brewed in the UK, Samuel Adams Boston Lager is brewed everywhere but Boston, etc. It's a wacky world.

Contract brewing is very common. However, the bottle of Guinness Draught I have in my hand right now says "brewed in Ireland by Guinness & Co." I think that only the Guinness Extra Stout for the US market is brewed in Canada. Guinness Extra Stout is an entirely different product - not the one we get on tap at bars and with the fancy widget in cans and bottles.
However, Guinness is no stranger to contract brewing and has been dong it for a long time. They have never tried to hide it either. In fact, I believe they tout it as a way to craft the beer for local/regional tastes and deliver it fresh and quickly to market.
