I need a good lighter, cheap. Any ideas?
Okay, yes I have researched archives and there is indeed a lot of information. Still, I need more.
I need a good, reliable lighter that works well outside, in the wind, etc. I do not want to spend a lot of money. $20 sounds good. For $20, it must be refillable and idiot proof. Any ideas? |

Hmmm...that's a hard one.
You might try the Cigarbid for one, but my suggestion is to stay away from Colibri lighters. Haven't had any good experiences with them. And make sure you use butane fuel that's been double or triple refined, anything else is likely to clog up your lighter and make it useless. |

Just buy a Zippo and don't listen to anybody talking about the flavor of lighter fluid. It's a real non issue. You can get one for 12 - 14 bucks, it lights in the wind and lasts forever.

Once they are back in stock, I personally enjoy using these as a cheapie, reliable refillable lighter.

I agree 100% with SS...I picked up one a few weeks ago and it has become my got to lighter. The bottle opener on there comes in handy often for me and I use the knife to open my cigar purchases and remove stuborn cigar bands...I also used the knife just yesterday as a screwdriver to open up another butane lighter that stop working.
I've been out on Ebay looking for some more...I want 2 more of these things so I can stash them everywhere |

The problem with those Tiger lighters is they're so darn nice they are bound to disappear unfortunately. You need to buy a bunch of them and "stash" them everywhere like ky70 says. I forgot to mention the bottle opener, thnx.
Nice thing about the knife is that if you forget to bring a cutter you can just circumcize the cap off. I've done it a bunch of times and it works great. The only possible criticism is that they are not small and flat, they are built like tanks and are heavy so they are kind of clunky in your pocket. |

I agree with SS on them Tiger lighters - have had a couple for ~3 years and have had ZERO problems with them! Found them on eBay for ~$5 a piece - one was even a dead ringer for the ST DuPont Xted lighter.......

The best lighter money can buy is only $22; the Prince (Asian trademark for Blazer) PB-207 (scroll down).
