Yeah, what's been already said, dry your tobacco out a bit before smoking it. Also don't pack your tobacco too tight. There's nothing wrong with corn cob pipes. I have many of them and enjoy them a lot. By the way, if you are looking for estate pipes, another place would be Blue Room Briars. And again, if you know what to look for, you can find some great smoking pipes at low prices. For instance, I have Royal Guard that is made by Stanwell, it's a great smoking pipe. Rossi pipes are made by Savinelli. Check out the different web sites, I think you'll find what you want.
