On Wednesday, I wandered into a local B & M where they rarely have estate pipes for sale. Much to my surprise, they did have one XXX Ashton in what I'd rate 9/10 condition. Not a mark on the original stem....and I bought it for a bit over $100.00. It's a rusticated dark billiard with a bowl slightly larger than I prefer. I don't think the prior owner smoked it much, as there is virtually no cake and no sign of reaming. The shop owner said the pipe was on consignment and he had just been told to "unload" it for anything over $100.00. I think I got lucky.
