2001 Limited Edition Cohiba Torp
Gifted to me by pcaponi after I said that I have never had a Cohiba that I thought was any good. His only condition: I bad to review it.
So here goes: Sidenote to jefslat: paired it with a Robert Earl King Honey Ale. Delish beer on a hot day. Beautiful. flawless construction. And what an incredible gift by an amazing brother. Very well rolled and super even burn to the very end. Taste: I never picked up any of the distinctive tastes tht Cohibas are supposed to be known for, and for the first 2/3’s it didn’t ba e a lot of depth. In fact, when it got to the first band I would have stopped if just any other cigar, but it wasn’t just any other cigar, it was a soecial treat from Phil. So I kept at it and am glad I did. No idea why, but the last 1/5 of it the flavor profile rapidly changed. A symphony of flavors bursting in my mouth. Ot was suddenly so good that I had to slow down to keep ot from burning hot. So overall, a very different smoking experience. The first 2/3ms I would have rated it as average. From the bands onward I’d give it a 4.5 out of 5. And from a gifting standpoint, a perfect score to Phil for such an amazing gift. 👍🏼👍🏼
