Hundreds, if not thousands of different cigars have been created since then. New cigars are created almost daily. Boutique brand cigars are often made in small numbers and a new cigar is subsequently created to take its place.

It is estimated that the cost for FDA approval of a new cigar will be hundreds of thousands of dollars. Many premium cigar makers will not be able to afford that. Cigars will then be mostly limited to only those brands created before 2007. Not to mention that this is only the beginning. With the FDA taking control we can and should expect even further changes.
