Thanks everyone, that thing stabilized once I removed the sponge, all the above advice was great. I just thought it seasoned way too fast, so I'm guessing the warehouse in Orlando may have had some relevance afterall. Not sure if it made a difference, but I used one of the larger sponges. Everything sitting at 66% filled.
