Best cigar for a martini?

An Italian restaurante called Cibo in Indianapolis has started a "Cigar and Martini" night, where they feature said luxury goods and usually have jazz playing. It got me a-thinkin'.

I've often explored pairing cigars with coffee, fine beers, wine, and sipping liquors...but I have dreadfully few experiences pairing cocktails with cigars. A mojito is about the only mixed beverage I ever drink with a cigar.

So what cigars, in your experience, have proved to go well with a martini? Just pure conjecture here, but gin doesn't seem like something that would readily pair with just any cigar. I can really only imagine something with a spicy, very herbal flavor would pair at all with a martini. So what have you experienced tasters to say?

Also, feel free to share any other unlikely cocktail/cigar combinations.

(As for mine, I love mojitos with mild to medium-bodied cigars, like Romeo y Julieta or La Gloria Cubana )
