I never thought I would say this

I have been one who has voiced my displeasure in the growing ring gauges in cigars. I've always preferred a ring gauge of 50. And I still do. But I have found with one particular line of cigars that I prefer a large ring gauge.

I have often identified that CAO cigars are very well crafted, but that for my tastes I only like the Brazilia line. However, I really only like the GOL. The other sizes just don't work for me. The GOL has a ring gauge of 56. I have noticed that with the larger ring gauge that the cigar burns cooler. And I like that.

I recently decided, after much consideration, to do the unthinkable and I ordered a box of the Brazilia Amazon. This is a 6 x 60 cigar. I smoked my first one tonight and I love it. Even more than the GOL. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that it lasted for almost 2 hours. It burns very cool and is very enjoyable. When I need a cigar that will only last an hour I'll smoke the GOL. But when I want one that will last longer, the Amazon is the one.

I haven't changed my mind about large ring gauges. I'm still not a fan. But this CAO Brazilia Amazon is a winner in my book.
