Big Butt El Camaron
Size: 50 x 5 3/4" Wrapper: Indonesian TBN Binder: Mexican Filler: Nicaraguan and Costa Rican Price Paid $3.25 I guess these cigars were considered HUGE at one time, but now they are just another 50+ ring gauge cigar. Indonesian TBN wrapper that was heavily viened and dark in color. An Almost flat satin finish with no real shine, but a definite 'silky' feel to the wrapper Clipping is easy and straight forward and pre-light drag is rather boring and unsucessful. Plenty of smoke eminates from the cigar. Hints of citrus and a lite peppery taste (Have you ever peppered an orange? Me either! They don't seem to mix well. After the first 1", the cigar smoothed out into a decent smoke. The slight musty taste of the Indonesian wrapper (which conisientally was riddled with large veins), detracted from an otherwise "OK" smoke. Would I smoke another one? If i was given it, and had nothing else handy, probably. Would I want to own a box of these? Probably not. Seems like a brand whose blend of tobaccos and marketing scheme is past it's prime and should be retired.
