Boli CE '97

Been a little rough on the home front lately, so tonight I went for my own personal brand of comfort food. A beautiful Boli CE '97.

This cigar exhibited a beautiful medium dark colorado wrapper that was almost flawless. The construction was top notch, with just enough spring throughout without being soft (get your minds out of the gutter boys). The cap cliped perfectly, yeilding to the razor sharp edges of my trusty Xicar cutter. The prelight draw was smooth with the perfect amount of resistance. The prelight aroma and flavor were classic Boli, strong and pungent.

This baby lit easily and evenly. Right off the bat the flavors smacked me in the mouth (which is one of the reasons I love this vitola). TWANG, and a sweet earthy spice dominated the profile for the first third. As the second third began the flavors deepend revealing hints of dark chocolate cinoman, and musky (in a very positive way) earth. The aroma was heavenly, made me glad that I smoke in the house where I can really enjoy the aroma. Into the last third of the cigar the strength really began picking up, however it at no time sublimated the immense complexity that this baby offered. All the flavors deepend and intensified building to a crecendo at about the point where the band rests. As this baby neared a close the twang realy dominated, but was accompinied by lush flaovrs of coco, cedar, exotic spice, and slight hints of dark Nic coffee. I was sad to see this ladies time expire.

The burn was razor sharp throughout.
As I put her down I reflected thoughtfully that it was a good thing that I just got another box of these in yesterday. Which incidentaly are the nicest looking examples of this vitola I've ever seen.

This gets a:95 out of 100 in my book
