Fuente Don Carlos #4

Smoked it outside last nite after the rainstorm, while my wife smoked a Torano Reserva Selecta cigarillo from the tin.

This cigar had a very elegant appearance, being 5 1/8 x 43 with a belicoso type tip. Clipped nicely, and took the torch flame well. A perfect circle of grey ash appeared around the rim of the foot. The draw was impeccable-just the right amount of firmness- and it produced an exceptional amount of flavorful smoke. It was so smooth, I offered a few puffs to my wife to try (I'm going to bring her over one of these days, dammit! ) and she found it delightful. I ran into problems in the 2nd third of the cigar, however. I had to relight 2 or 3 times, and the draw closed down on me. It may have been the result of the higher humidity after the storm, so I stuck with it and was rewarded in the last part of the smoke, when it opened back up and continued to burn well. It even gained a bit more body. I'll wait a while to smoke the few more that I have in case the draw/burn problem I experienced can be corrected by more humidor time. I would still rate it a good 45/50.
