I always wanted to try one of these monsters. At a cigar party in another town, one of the other attendees had a few. I just happened to have a Lusitania that he wanted so we made a deal. Back home, I entered my "Pub of Preference," ordered a Boddington's, sat down and put fire to leaf.
The wrapper was a deep brown; a few veins and a bit rough to the touch but it smelled super. My initial concerns were that it had a "hard as a rock" feel. (Please don't tell me I traded a Lusi for something that won't draw.) This sucker fired up easily and the smoke began to permeate throughout the place; a pleasant aroma and a great taste. Despite my pre-light concerns about the draw, there were absolutely no problems. The ash burned black-gray and straight as an arrow the entire stick. I'd classify this as a medium-bodied smoke that got fuller about the halfway point. That's about the only variation in the taste I noticed. A bit of pepper and a lot of leathery flavors. The aroma held well and I even had two women comment that they really liked the smell. They wanted to know what it was so they could tell their cigar-smoking husbands about it. All in all, the afternoon was well spent with this stick. I definitely would like to have more. And I WILL! Sacred cows make the best hamburger. --Mark Twain
