They have both an extra virgin brand and a lower end brand. It's a pity to waste good olive oil in a dish where you really won't be able to it's subleties. I cook with the lowend oil and save the good stuff for vinaigrettes and such where the flavor sings.

local grocery chain is Italian owned, two brothers who have split, but they are famous enough to have Lidia Bastianich do a visit on her show to one of their stores...
...they have incredible produce, a massive selection of Italian dried pasta that is good and cheap, and a wide selection of olive oils. I usually use Partagana brand. I also have 3-4 brands of Spanish olive oil (2 are first day of pressing from the season and I use on bread and as a drizzle on food). I also have a Tunisian olive oil I got at Trader Joe's, quite bitter in a good way. Now I am hungry for pasta...

I stick mostly to single estate, cold-pressed, extra-virgin olive oils (a habit picked up from my wine purchasing, which is almost exclusively focused on the estate-bottled variety). I'm not overly partial to the products of any specific country, and enjoy olive oils from around the globe. Currently, I'm enjoying Bio Vizcántar, an organic olive oil from the Andalucia region of Spain. It leans toward the 'softer', less bitter and acidic end of the flavour spectrum, and is quite versatile.
For high-temperature cooking, I lean toward grapeseed, peanut and sesame oils.

I also use California Olive Ranch, but mostly for finishing or for drizzling. Store brand up here works ok for frying

California Olive Ranch Arbequina is a very tasty oil. The company as a whole gets good reviews from industry testers not just consumers. A US company that's doing it right
