Fratello Oro Robusto
Very smooth Connecticut shade wrapper with a firm bunch and a generous draw. Cut well with a Xikar-V. Lit easily and drew clean.
After a bit of “off-lighter” adjusting, the cigar is burning very even. And, as I have come to expect from a Fratello, there’s a lot more flavor than you would expect from a Connecticut shade cigar. Nice nuanced tobacco notes with plentiful smoke and a lot of cedar and leather flavors with only a touch of pepper in the retrohale. Overall a light to medium bodied cigar that is more medium than expected. After the first third the cigar is producing plentiful smoke and flavors including tobacco, cedar and leather with a light sweetness. The burn continues to be perfect and the ash is holding nicely. During the second third a bit of ginger emerges, adding to the already complex smoke profile. This cigar might be a bit “light” for some palates, but should not be sold short. Also, the construction is immaculate. Approaching the final inch, this cigar continues to perform like a champ. Much like last year’s Boxer and hopefully like the much anticipated Navetta, the Fratello family shows that they know how to put together a fine cigar. 8.5/10, Joe Bob says check it out.

Nice review, Jeff. I had similar reactions to the Fratelo line. Just was just too mild for me
