I initially was always attracted to a nice smooth grained pipe, and tended to prefer bent pipes over straight ones.
To date my favorite is a Tinsky 2000 Christmas pipe, which is a bent Rhodesian with a mocha colored stain. Smokes great. But lately I have really taken a liking to heavily rusticated pipes and I have been grabbing my Savinelli Rusticated 1/8 bent billard a lot lately. (Mind you I haven't been smoking it much, but I take it out and look at it and admire the workmanship). Anyway, It has got me to the point where I am starting to think about looking for another pipe to add to the collection. I'd like a small rusticated billard (black) with a saddle bit stem and perhaps a band of lighter colored smooth wood right before the stem. MMMmmmmmm! I still wish I could master smoking my pipe while driving, but I just don't seem to have enough hands Anyway, what is your favorite pipe? "Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in!"...
