TJ's Aged Ale 2008
Picked up 2 bottles of Trader Joe's 2008 Aged Ale. Its a Unibroue product from Canada, Belgian Boble style. For 4.99 a bottle there is no beating it. Very fine bubbles, fantastic head, flavors are complex, ranging from molasses and brown sugar to citrus. Well hopped. Yum.

Unibroue is headquartered just a stone's throw away from me in Lachine, Quebec. And although I haven't tasted a wide range of its products, it IS known for the quality of its beers.
The company was first taken over by Sleeman Breweries (a large Ontario-based concern) and then bought by Sapporo.

I like the way Trader Joe's sets up their beer rack in the one I went to in MN- instead of racking you for a premium price for buying a single beer to try, they actually split the price of a six equally and charge you for only one beer. I went in there and bought 6 different beers I never tried before because I didn't feel like I was getting raked over the coals for trying something new. Usually I buy a whole six - if I don't like it I have to wait and serve it at the next construction project at my house....

Well TJ's selection is limited, but they have good value on what they do have.

We have a new Trader Joe's so I may have to try this out. I really like the Unibroue beers I have tried.

Worth seeking. I know that TJ's very from region to region. I hope they have it. At 5 bucks a bottle, it is an exceptional value.
