I had smoked a couple of the Sir Winnies quite awhile ago, but haven't gotten a box until recently. Even so, I didn't smoke one till this evening. I had two really disappointing (domestic) cigars today (totally without flavor), so a nice big Cuban seemed just the thing for my Saturday evening smoke.
I was a little dissapointed when I first got this box, as the wrappers were lighter than I prefer, and I could hardly notice any 'sheen' (unlike my recent Lusi's and those dark wrapper Punch Churchills). This thing turned out to be SOOOOO GOOD that I had to sit down and write a short review. Here's what I put in the CW review section: From a box SSU ABR01, these have nice medium brown wrappers - not very oily, and with a few small veins, but well constructed. Construction was great, the draw was "just right" for me, neither too loose nor too hard. Burned razor straight throughout. This cigar was wonderful! A nice 'woodsy' and earthy tone, with flavors of fruit, honey, and a sweet creamy profile which just got better and better toward the end. These provide an excellent, complex smoke with lots of body and enough 'twang' to let the smoker know where they were made. I am VERY happy with the purchase of this box! Screw the 'lighter' wrappers, this was one of the best cigars I've ever had! (I hope the one I sent you was good too Fitz!)
