Guinness 200th anniversary.

This is supposed to be an old recipe. I really am having a hard time getting all of the nuances, but I can say that this is the old Guinness that I bought when I was sixteen. Far more robust than the current stout, I managed to compare them.

This seems to have a mild sweetness underneath the bitterness of the roasted malt. It's spicy, with a taste of cinnamon. It suggests that there would be a chocolate in it, and I do believe that there is a cocoa taste on the finish. A bit thick and heavy, and unlike th others, it's carbonated. It poured a nice carbonated head, good lacing, and long into the glass it still has a little bit of a head.the carbonation adds bite and the tingle, whereas nitrogen leaves a texture like cool whip.

Guinness draft sucks. The current extra stout tastes watery and slightly tart. Weaker. This isn't a world class beer, but it's a really good stout and a huge improvement over the current product. It's a great beer for its class.

supposedly they have a commemoration case or pack out that includes the beer they brewed for Belgium post WWII and some other old recipes

maybe the beer isn't thinning maybe your tongue is thickening

Haven't found it yet, although I don't really drink these days. I'm curious to try this and the Bud Amber lager. The latter just to see if AB can show me something and the former because Guinness is my go-to when I do have a beer. Couple of sips would be enough.
