Your Top 3 Bass Players...

any genre...

Mine are

1) Geddy Lee - Rush
2) Lemmy (R.I.P.) - Motorhead
3) Les Claypool - Primus

I was also a huge Cliff Burton (Metallica's original Bass Player) fan.. Truly ahead of his time in the genre he played.. Kind of like a Lead Bass role..

One of my favorites is Stanley Clarke.

Not voting , i saw a special about Jaco Pastorius and how he changed the way bass players played. The only other person i know of who is credited with changing the bass world is John Entwistle...

But , I really do not pay much attention to base players ...

he was voted no 2 of all time by a Rolling Stone reader poll. Maybe you have not taken the time to really listen to him. He is considered by many professional musicians as an outstanding player.
