Cigar Gift ideas - anyone?

I'm working on buying some cigar gifts for a buddy of mine and just wondered what you all have liked getting the most. He's got a ton of cigars so I think I'm going to skip over the obvious and maybe get him a cool lighter, case, or other accessory. Any opinions are welcome. Also, I've got a coupon I'm going to use at the store I linked above, so if you see anything cool there let me know.

Wow Sam, you must really like Thompson's at lot. Three of your threads you started here all have a direct link there. Pretty much every other board that you are on also has posts started by you with a direct link to Thompson's for everything from Padron cigars, humidors, and this thread repeats itself several time as well.

Assuming this is a legit question, what is your price point? Without some kind of ideas as to the price range, it's impossible to be of any real assistance. And if you do have some affiliation with Thompson's, YUCK! JMO, YMMV.

Hi Sam - we don't mind participation in the CW Forums by manufacturers, wholesalers and/or retailers (in fact we encourage such participation).

We require, however, that manufacturers, wholesalers and/or retailers openly declare their positions and affiliations so that everyone knows who is affiliated with whom.

CW Guideline #8 states: "Disclose if you represent or are supported in any fashion by a manufacturer or retailer."

If you are representing Thompson's, no harm/no foul - just let us know.

If you just really like to shop at Thompson's, great..... I used to purchase cigars and accessories from them many years ago and always got good service.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming.....

I am as sceptical as the next guy when it comes to the internet and covert marketing techniques. Heck in the early days of the net I was one of those 'regular guys' posting for companies. Sorry needed a job real bad.

Anyways unless the link in the OP was edited it is the same one you get by going to Thompsons and clicking on gifts. So how is it an affiliate link?

So does this mean no one is going to answer the question ?

The price point is between $30-50...I posted this thread on a lot of forums to get more opinions...which might explain others seeing the same thing around. I link to Thomposon as it's what I'm most familiar with...or because, yes, I legitimately have a coupon - hilarious I know but no I don't work at Thompson.

I think I'm going to end up grabbing a xikar lighter or possibly a gift pack of some kind. If anyone does have any other suggestions let me know.

I'll take a stab. As with any gift a little thought goes a long way. Several friends have given me some great accessories just by knowing what I didn't have.

For instance never thought a two cigar case was anything I would want. UNTIL a friend gave me a nice solid walnut one. Its great and I use it all the time.

Another thought I didn't have a good enough ashtray and gave me a free cbid one. Heck I knew it was free but still a great gift. Using it now.

As for what to get if you don't know. A decent cutter or lighter is always welcome. I have 4 or 5 of each and am always looking for one here or there.

The best gift you could give your friend and yourself - branch out, find places other than T's to make your purchases.

JR Cigar, Holt's, CI, Famous Smoke Shop, etc. There are lots of places.

Google is your friend.

Otherwise, you'll be receiving those crappy catalogs even after you are dead, heck , even if you enter a witness protection program, they will find you.
