No doubt the electric kettle is one of the fastest ways to heat water but is a bit bulky for a suitcase. The Aeropress is a travel coffee maker and you can use the in room drip maker or crap pod unit which are becoming very common to get your hot water. A small submersible heater will work well to bring water to boil if needed but is much slower than the kettle. On the plus side it is very small and travels well in a suitcase. I usually travel with beans and small blade grinder. We were in Memphis this past weekend and I had forgot the coffee supplies. The hotel coffee in the lobby was really bad, the in room packets of coffee flavored saw dust would have been even worse. The wife and I both sighed with relief when having our first cup at home this morning. Ahh, nothing like fresh roasted and properly brewed.
