'96 Dom H. Upmann Robusto Cab.
Saw this in the Humi and had to smoke it. Pre-light: EMS wrapper, veiny with nice amount of plume, aroma is musty and loads of cedar. very firm.
The Smoke: 1st 3rd of smoke is woody and earthy with a sweet undertone, ash is light grey to white and holds on for dear life. Burn is razor sharp, no flakes in ash. 2nd 3rd of cigar the flavor has moved to a musty, odd vegetal(mushrooms?) tone. Burn is still perfect. ash has a little flaking. The overall body is mild to med. Last 3rd, very peppery and earthy, and now more med bodied. The burn has held up the whole way, she's almost a lip burner. Ash is grey and aroma is very earthy! The verdict: I'm sorry that this is the last one in the humi, I bought 5 these 4 yrs ago for $4 a pop, should have bought more!! A great mild-med bodied classic! -The Saint |
