We seem to have a lot of members talking about homebrewing being one of their 'other' hobbies. Since it's OT for the Smokin Post I thought I'd start a thread here.

I've been brewing since 1988, competing and judging since 1995 and have enough points to be a National judge (but am 1 point shy on the test). I judge infrequently, but only got into that part to help improve my beers and try new styles.

I have been brewing mostly all-grain for the last 10 years and enjoy making gadgets and mostly making stronger beers likel Barley wine, Scotch Ale and Imperial Stouts.

I also like brewing odd styles like Vegetable (Pumpkin, Squash), fruit (Raspberry Imperial Stout, Lambic), Steinbiere (Hot rocks), Rauch (smoked beers), all Belgians, etc.

I recently made some meads. A Smoked Braggot, Prickly Pear Cactus, Lemon Tea, Pyment (Niagara) and Berry Mead. I have a Plum mead planned with plums I picked from my yard.

Nothing better than a vintage beer or mead paired with a vintage smoke
