EL 2007: Romeo & Julieta Escudo
When looking at this beauty, it has amazing appeal.
First, is the very dark, oily wrapper, with some veins showing but only slightly. The seams on the cap (classic Cuban) and the aroma from this masterpiece was of cocoa butter and cherry. Unfortunately, the beverage enjoyed was a typical Russian Standard Vodka. Typical of what's available here in Shanghai. I clipped the cap using a and took a prelight draw. There was definitely more cherry and spice in this beauty. The initial puffs tasted like I was in Heaven, in Cuba. The huge white puffs of smoke with the taste of coca butter, cherry, and not much else. But, nothing else was needed. Very consistent taste throughout. The ending was more complexity in the variations of cherry and cocoa with unknown spice; moving from a medium to a medium full bodied smoke A classic cigar , with complexity and flavor. A must have for the aficionado, but one that may be aged for a few years to realize the full range of complexity and range of cherry and cocoa. 87/88 out of 100 |
