Since you say you're previously enjoyed the blend it's gotta be that the pipes are dirty and maybe the guy smoked poor quality tobacco in them also. I'm sure a good cleaning will fix them up. I'm not very knowledgeable on how to clean them up but pleanty of other guys on this site are, and I'm sure they will help. Also to a searc on cleaning on this forum. Hope this helps.
