I like them all, plain or fancy.
My wife threw away a coaster kit she had for years and never made them. I salvaged the wooden coasters from the kit and am in the process of staining them, putting cigar bands on them, and then I will put several coats of gloss over them. Then I will glue some felt on the bottom.
